Once I was driving east on Interstate 10 and I went through El Paso, TX. I looked to my right to the south and saw a young couple on the Juarez, Mexico side holding hands and staring across the border. I wrote this song about them. I’m glued to a TV show right now on FX called “The Bridge”, it takes place on the El Paso/Juarez border and picks up where my song “Juarez, Mexico” leaves off. – Thom Chacon

“It’s like a fight,” Thom said. “Each song is a round. I’m ducking and weaving and throwing jabs, and a lot of times I’m getting beat up and I’m on the ropes. And then there are songs that are successful and people get them. So it’s like getting in the ring, and you are alone. You are truly alone, just like a boxer, up there on the stage.”
