I salute him.” – Mary Gauthier With an acoustic guitar and a weathered voice, Thom Chacon the Durango, Colorado balladeer breathes life into the Characters he creates on paper. Chacon’s latest recording, Lonely Songs for Wounded Souls (New Shot Records) is a 16- track “Live In Italy” album that features Tony Garnier (upright bass, Bob Dylan) and Italy’s own Paolo Ercoli on Dobro and pedal steel. Thom is also an actor. Recent projects include a lead role in TV’s, Wild West Chronicles (S3, E11), a supporting role and original song in the feature film, The Outlaws, a supporting role in the movie, Delivery Run and the lead in the short film, Ghost Town in which Thom won BEST ACTOR at the 2025 SISFA Film Festival. When asked about his screenplays, Thom says - "As a songwriter I have about three minutes to spin an entire tale. Sometimes I want to tell a longer story, screenwriting scratches that itch." Thom's screenplays include the feature length, Featherweight Fighter (about the life of 2x boxing champ, Bobby Chacon) the television pilot, Them Devils and short scripts, Borderland, Purgatory Flats and The Land Of Dust. In February 2021, Chacon once again landed on the cover of the legendary Italian music magazine, Buscadero. In 2018 he was awarded Buscadero’s “Best New Artist.” Thom Chacon has literally traveled around the world playing his songs: from the intimidating confines of Folsom Prison (“a life- changing experience”) to Thailand, India and Europe.
